Attractive double hemisphere worldmap on thick fine paper. The map is ornated in the corners with very decorative mythological scenes. De Wit his map is one of the most attractive of its time.
The brilliant scenes in the corners combine images of the four seasons, the elements, and the signs of the zodiac in a well balanced and naturalistic way (Shirley p. 469). The map was published ca. 1670 in atlases by de Wit.
