Born in Franche Comte Left the Capuchin order and resumed the name of Andre (date?) Greatest fame is as geologist. Work as a cartographer notable for precision and for drawing on the latest discoveries. Map of the celestial Hemishpheres which caused a stir when published. Map of the world showing i.a. Cook's discoveries - One edition showing results of Cook's first voyage, followed by an amended edition adding his second expedition discoveries and two inset maps of Pacific Islands.
